Provide direct nursing care and advocate for patients within an Ambulatory Surgery Center following company policies and ASC standards. Monitor patient conditions, perform emergency life-saving measures when necessary, and collaborate with medical staff to plan nursing interventions.
Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking to bring on an OR Registered Nurse to support our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center.
NWOS is closed all weekends and major holidays. No nights or on call. This position works a 10 hour shift.
Provide direct nursing care in conformance with company policies and procedures and ASC standards while advocating/utilizing the nursing process and evidenced based practice.
Exert independent judgment in care of assigned patient, maintaining awareness that errors in judgment may result in serious consequences.
Accept responsibility for the welfare of assigned patients even in critical and life threatening conditions.
Utilize the nursing process in providing care in order to promote a positive and uneventful perioperative experience.
Recognize the need for and perform appropriate emergency life saving measures when applicable.
Maintain a patient-centered mentality and the confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and relation to drugs, treatments and other significant incidents.
Provides physical safety for the patient per department specific competencies and procedures.
Monitor, evaluate, and adjust patient care according to patient responses.
Participate in a collaborative effort with other nursing/medical staff to structure patient care.
Plan nursing interventions based on individual patient needs, surgical procedures and standard plans of care.
Maintain knowledge regarding own responsibilities in ASC Disaster Plan and assist with the direction of staff and patients to function according to the plan.
• Day shift. No nights, no weekends, or on call shifts.

Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing or higher and a valid Washington State Registered Nurses license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also mandatory.
