Performs radiographic cardiovascular procedures by operating equipment using ionizing radiation according to established procedures and under the direction of a cardiologist.
Assists cardiologists in all procedures.
Recognizes and assists with appropriate actions in emergency situations.
Contributes specialty expertise in the development of policies, procedures, and cath lab standards.
Contributes to the educational process for patients, cardio cath staff and self.
Accurately processes and reproduces images.
Assists with the maintenance of cardiac cath lab equipment, maintenance and inventory.
Assists with the prep of procedures room and maintains equipment in proper functioning order.
Ensures all appropriate needs of the cardiac cath lab are met.
Participates in PI and QA activities.
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology or Military education for x-ray procedures with an enlisted occupational specialty title of X-ray specialist (Radiology Technician). AS degree is preferred.
Two years of Radiology Technologist experience required. Cardiac Cath Lab experience is preferred. Excellent customer service skills.
Registered by A.R.R.T. examination. Under extenuating circumstances, a grace period of no more than one month will be allowed for renewals of ARRT. Fluoroscopy permit required. Current California license in Radiology Technology. BLS required. Fluoroscopy license within 6 months of hire.
