Perform a wide range of clinical laboratory tests accurately and timely across various specialties including hematology and chemistry. Responsible for collecting blood samples from neonatal to geriatric patients and maintaining regulatory records.
The Medical Laboratory Scientists must be able to perform any test offered by the lab when requested by a physician.
Must be proficient in the basic areas of hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, serology, coagulation, and bacteriology, as well as demonstrate knowledge of quality control and job-related clerical work.
The MLS is responsible for performing any clinical Laboratory test or procedure accurately and completing testing in a timely manner with respect to the needs of the patient and provider.
Responsible for obtaining blood samples for clinical diagnostic testing from patients of varying age, ranging from neonatal to geriatric, using Arterial, Venous, and Capillary collection methods.
MLS will show proficiency in the proper handling and processing of all samples as directed by the Director of Laboratory Services.
Responsible for processing patient samples for testing and transporting to reference facilities as needed.
Must maintain all records required by applicable regulatory agencies, hospital and laboratory policies.

Must have BA or BS from an accredited school; ASCP registration eligible or equivalent registration. Prior experience preferred.
This is a full-time, day shift position.
