Requires a high school diploma and experience working with the public or in a healthcare capacity, with college credits in psychology or related fields as a substitute. Candidates must obtain specific mental health education within four months of hire and pass a drug screen.

Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
Under close supervision, this position assures the safety and treatment of patients and functions as the entry level of the Behavioral Health Assistant job class series. This position provides support to patients receiving behavioral health services by primarily conducting one-to-one patient sitting, virtual sitting, and floating to the mental health unit. The role involves direct patient care, facilitating communication and collaboration within the healthcare team, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and participating in education, training, and other duties as assigned. It is expected that this position will always interact therapeutically with patients.

The role involves direct patient care, facilitating communication and collaboration within the healthcare team, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and participating in education, training, and other duties as assigned. It is expected that this position will always interact therapeutically with patients.
