The Medical Assistant supports physicians by rooming patients, documenting care in EHRs, and performing various clinical tests. They are also responsible for managing patient files and coordinating communications for referrals and prescriptions.
Candidates must hold a Medical Assistant certification or have 2 years of experience in a medical office. First Aid, CPR certification, and proficiency with computers and EHR systems are required.

Assists the physician as needed, including rooming clients and documenting in electronic health records. Assists with on-site physicals, immunizations, drug screens, and additional testing when scheduled. Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols, ensuring patient safety, specimen integrity, and proper labeling, handling, and documentation of all laboratory samples. Performs special procedures such as electrocardiograms, TB skin testing, eye distance exams, vital signs, and audiograms. Performs urine pregnancy testing, urinalysis, urine drug screens, breathalyzers, and other tests as necessary and as directed by the physician or Medical Office Manager. Charts results of all testing, communications, medication, and all relevant information regarding patient care. Assists in creating and maintaining patient files, charts, and follow-ups on an ongoing basis. Places phone calls to convey physician information for referral, i.e., specialist, verbal orders for prescriptions, pre-authorizations, and related communications.
