The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care, including taking medical histories, recording vitals, and assisting with clinical procedures. They also manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, handling billing, and maintaining patient records.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid CMA certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA. BLS certification is required, and graduation from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program is strongly preferred.
