Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in Lacey, Washington, is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our well-established, 6-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice.
This role is primarily focused on urgent care, though we are absolutely open to candidates interested in a mix of General Practice and Urgent Care, depending on comfort level and professional interests.
Whether you’re an experienced urgent care doctor or a GP looking to expand into more advanced, same-day cases with strong support, this is a great opportunity to practice meaningful medicine without unnecessary referrals.
Why This Role Is a Great Fit for You Urgent Care with Real Clinical Depth Our hospital has the capability to manage a wide range of urgent and emergent cases in-house, and we generally do not refer many cases out to ER.
Our team is comfortable handling advanced procedures such as GDVs, splenectomies, C-sections, blood transfusions, and more.
Case involvement is always based on the individual DVM’s comfort level, and collaboration is readily available.
Historically, we have treated many emergent cases that local ERs previously managed, and our team is well-equipped to continue doing so.
Common Urgent Care Cases You’ll See Typical urgent care presentations include ear infections, vomiting, inappetence, lameness, diarrhea, skin conditions, ADRs, and toxicity cases, along with higher-acuity presentations when appropriate.
Strong Clinical Support You’ll be supported by a highly experienced team, including 7 licensed veterinary technicians, allowing you to practice efficiently and confidently without feeling stretched thin.
Schedule & Coverage Expectations Four 10-hour shifts per week Sunday coverage is required Other days are negotiable Hospital hours are currently 8:00am–7:00pm on weekdays Weekend hours are expanding, with a goal of being open until 7:00pm on Saturdays and 6:00pm on Sundays, offering some flexibility as the schedule evolves This role is ideal for someone who enjoys weekend medicine and appreciates having consistency and clarity in scheduling.
