The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing direct and indirect rehabilitation care, including evaluations and individualized treatment plans. They also educate patients and families, direct assistants, and participate in quality improvement efforts.
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and Tennessee licensure are required. Candidates must also have BLS certification and knowledge of general occupational therapy principles.
A licensed Occupational Therapist employed by Erlanger Health System, is responsible for direct and indirect care in the rehabilitation of the patient.

Provides Occupational Therapy evaluations. Develops an individual plan of treatment for each patient. Provides age-appropriate treatment. Participates in team meetings and discharge planning. Educates patients and their families in the patient�s treatment program. Directs Occupational Therapy Assistants in patient treatments. Maintains accurate documentation. Serves as clinical instructor for OT and COTA students. Participates in continuing education programs. Participates in community education. Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement efforts of the department and the Medical Center. Maintains standards as set down by the America Occupational Therapy Association regarding treatment procedures and professional ethics.
