The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering and supervising patient care using the nursing process within a long-term acute care setting. Duties include coordinating interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, and providing education to patients and their families.
Candidates must hold a current RN licensure and BLS certification, with ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire. One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred but not required.
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
