The COTA provides direct occupational therapy services and patient care under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include monitoring resident progress, documenting sessions, and instructing caregivers on safety techniques.
Candidates must possess a current California COTA license and CPR certification. Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings is preferred.
The COTA will assist in providing occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Your work will support residents in achieving greater independence and improving their quality of life. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist Monitor resident progress and communicate with the OT to adjust treatment as needed Assist in instructing residents, caregivers, and staff in carryover exercises and safety techniques Accurately document therapy sessions and maintain records in compliance with regulations Participate in care conferences, team meetings, and in-service training Ensure proper use of adaptive equipment and recommend adjustments when necessary Foster a positive, encouraging environment for residents and team members Qualifications Current California COTA license (Required) Current CPR Certification (Required) Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Strong communication, organization, and clinical reasoning skills Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams Commitment to patient-centered care and rehabilitation goals
