This PRN opportunity is to cover periodic therapist time off or short-term staffing needs. Must be available and agree to cover a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter; 2 major holiday and 2 minor holiday availability required. Why Children's Health? Summary

This job is for PRN assignments only. Please refer to Physical Therapist I (#1828) job description. The incumbent in this position is a staff therapist who participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices of Physical Therapy. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Children's Health philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

Provide direct Physical Therapy evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of function, setting individualized goals and making discharge recommendations in accordance with standards of practice; provide direct PT treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation including evaluation forms, progress notes, education forms; and collaborate with physicians, patients, family and other members of the health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning Coordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities; supervise rehabilitation aides; mentor and instruct PT interns and other students as indicated Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; attend and participate in departmental meetings, in services, rounds and peer reviews; participate in program development as assigned by Team Leader; and participate in continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competency Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description Assume other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area How You’ll Be Successful: WORK EXPERIENCE At least 1 year job related experience required EDUCATION Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS License to practice physical therapy in the State of Texas required Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required upon hire Effective 10/31/2023- PPMAB - Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (In-Patient only) within 60 days required JOB PROFILE Requires in-depth professional knowledge and practical/applied expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines within the broader professional field Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; demonstrates awareness of the industry, including regulatory, evolving customer demands, and the factors that differentiate the organization in the market Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies Works independently, receives minimal guidance Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus A Place Where You Belong We put our people first. Requirements

Requires a Texas Physical Therapy license, BLS certification, and at least one year of related experience. A graduate or professional degree is required, along with the ability to complete PPMAB certification within 60 days.
