Occupational Therapy Assistant

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant with our Rehabilitation Services Department.

• The primary purpose of the OTA is to assist the Occupational Therapist in planning and conducting Occupational Therapy treatments and patient education .
• Advances patients to meet the plan of care.
• Communicates openly with the Occupational Therapist concerning progress of all patients and is open for suggestions in treatment approaches and techniques.
• Observes, records and reports on patients condition, reaction and response to treatment according to the Occupational Therapist's plan of care. .
• Provides timely progress notes and charges.
• Assists in training and orienting students, new employees or volunteers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Junior College/Technical School required.
• Licensure by the West Virginia State Board of Occupational Therapy required.
• Previous position-related experience preferred.
