Provides direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including performing EKGs and collecting blood samples. Responsible for monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and documenting patient progress in electronic records.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a current BLS certification. Valid certification as a Patient Care Technician (CPCT) or equivalent certifications in EKG, phlebotomy, and nursing assistance are required.
St. Mary's Medical center is seeing a full time Patient Care Specialist. This position assists in providing patient care activities for which employee has been prepared and in conformance with Medical Center policy and procedures, functions under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse.
High School Diploma/GED required. Successful completion of a multi-skilled technician program which includes EKG, phlebotomy, and direct patient care preferred.
EKG and Phlebotomy training with patient experience in clinical setting preferred.
Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT) certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT). Certification must be valid and current.
EKG, phlebotomy, and certification in patient care such as Nurse Aide or Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required an must be maintained.
