The technician provides pharmaceutical care by processing medication orders and preparing medications for dispensing and distribution. They are also responsible for managing inventory and maintaining pharmacy automation equipment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and state board of pharmacy registration. Previous experience in medication distribution and a technician training program are preferred.
Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors, through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs other duties as assigned.
