The role involves processing and preparing specimens for transport and analysis. It also includes performing simple quality control and waived level testing under supervision.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of clinical experience in specimen handling, or a related bachelor's degree. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited medical assistant or similar training program.
Processes and prepares specimens for transport and/or analysis. May perform technical duties relative to simple Quality Control and waived level testing under direct supervision of a technologist.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience. Bachelor's Degree in related field may be considered in lieu of experience. Graduate of heath/ medical assistant or similar training program at an accredited institution where general laboratory technique is taught. Ability to use Laboratory Information System in addition to various other software programs
