The Medical Assistant provides direct patient service in NIHD Clinics under the direction of physicians and other clinical providers. They work closely with district leadership and internal and external customers to support clinic operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant training course with BLS certification. A California Certified Medical Assistant certification and over one year of clinical experience are preferred.
The Medical Assistant (MA) functions under the Medical Direction of the Clinic Physicians and their designees, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistants, to carry out direct patient service in the NIHD Clinics.
1. Directly responsible to the RHC/NIA Managers or their designee. 2. The MA is directly supervised by the Clinic Physician or their designee (NP or PA) for clinical practice 3. Works closely with District leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.
Works in the outpatient clinic setting. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues as well as patients in varying stages of infectious states.
Experience: Medical Assistant training course completion
Education: High School Diploma or GED certificate
Certification: BLS upon hire
Experience: 1 + year experience in medical field or clinical back office setting
Certification: California Certified Medical Assistant certification or similar National certification
10-hour shifts
Schedule may vary some Saturdays required Full time
