About the role

Provides clinical support to patient care staff by performing duties such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with activities of daily living. Responsibilities also include replenishing supplies and performing specialized tasks like EKGs and phlebotomy.

Full Time (72 Hours Biweekly)

Shift

Evening/Night (7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.)

Every third weekend and every other holiday

Emergency Department

Ephrata Community Hospital's emergency department will see an average of 30,000 patients a year. The department consists of 29 beds including a 6 bed secure behavioral health area.

General Summary

Provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. Takes patient vital signs, assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.), inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned and or delegated duties such as performing EKGs, Point-of-Care testing, phlebotomy and splinting.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and less than one year of experience as a Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Nursing Student. Heartsaver CPR/AED certification is required upon hire, while CNA certification is preferred.
