With a network of more than 60 facilities, we deliver a comprehensive range of services, including family medicine, women’s health, dentistry, internal medicine, ENT, optometry, pediatrics, and behavioral health. We also offer specialized programs such as WIC nutrition services, school-based health centers, black lung treatment, homeless outreach initiatives, and pharmacies.

Valley Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, skilled Psychiatrist to join our multi-disciplinary behavioral health team which consists of 3 Psychiatrists, 8 PMHNPS, 26 Therapy Providers and hosts a yearly cohort of interns who train in our APA-accredited PsyD internship program. The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services for patients of all ages in an outpatient community health setting.

This role is ideal for a provider who wants to utilize their skills to make a direct impact in underserved communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients of all ages
  • Manage medications and monitor treatment effectiveness
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers and therapists, to deliver integrated, whole-person care
  • Educate patients and families on mental health, treatment options, and wellness strategies
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active West Virginia medical license or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong interpersonal, diagnostic, and clinical skills
  • Commitment to community-based care and serving underserved populations

Requirements

Requires an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and Board Certification or Eligibility in Psychiatry. Must possess or be eligible for an active West Virginia medical license.
