The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine testing in various laboratory areas. This work aids physicians and clinical care teams in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
An associate degree from a NAACLS accredited program or equivalent military training is required. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or equivalent is also required upon hire or within three months.
The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine testing in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratory areas to aid physicians and clinical care teams in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient.
