  • Overview: Sutter Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is seeking an experienced Cardiac Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to join our inpatient cardiac services team at our advanced tertiary cardiac center.
  • Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is a 450-bed facility located in downtown Oakland, serving as the tertiary cardiac referral center for the Greater East Bay. We provide a comprehensive, cutting-edge cardiac program that includes:
  • General cardiology
  • Advanced cardiac imaging (cardiac CT and MRI)
  • Coronary interventions, including treatment of chronic total occlusions
  • Cardiac surgery

Our cardiac program is supported by approximately 20 cardiologists and 3 cardiothoracic surgeons.

Job Description: The Cardiac APC will:

Work collaboratively under the supervision of on-site cardiologists Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiac care, including: Pre-procedure evaluations Post-procedure evaluations Managing cardiac discharges and coordinating with the hospitalist team Follow-up inpatient assessments Evaluating new inpatient or Emergency Department consults Triage of urgent and emergent cardiac patients Participation in the post-cardiac-discharge Transition of Care Clinic EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master's: Nursing

Certification & licensure

  • NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs AANPCB-National certification by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board OR ANCC-National Certification by American Nurses Credentialing Center OR AACN-National Certification by American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Certification Corporation OR NCC-National Certifications by National Certification Corporation NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing RN-California Registered Nurse CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA) (not required for SHSO-Admin (Employee Health) or non-patient care positions) BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification required based on the department requirements

  • EXPERIENCE: 5 years of recent relevant experience.
  • SKILLS
  • AND
  • KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology. Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record. Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI). Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $193,024.00 to $279,884.80 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school with a Master's in Nursing and possess relevant certifications and licensure. A minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience is required.
