Monitors sterilizers and processes surgical instruments and supplies to ensure they are safe for patient use. Maintains sterilization records and adheres to hospital and manufacturer protocols for decontamination.

Break down and decontaminate instruments following procedure according to protocols. Set up trays and prepare for sterilization. Sterilize instruments and supplies according to Operating Room, Central Processing and manufacturer protocols and standards. Monitors sterilization process and maintains daily, permanent record of sterilization parameters according to hospital protocols and local, state and AAMI. standards. Maintains a clean environment by following daily cleaning protocol. Maintains inventory of supplies and instruments. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Related hospital experience of minimum of 1 year in care of instruments, equipment or supplies, preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations. Certification by HSPA preferred
Requires a high school diploma or GED and prefers one year of related hospital experience. HSPA certification is preferred for this role.
