Assist physicians during the performance of surgical procedures. Manage and prepare surgical instruments to ensure efficient operation room workflow.
Requires a high school diploma and certification from an accredited Operating Room Technician school or equivalent training. A minimum of two years of surgical technology training or one year of experience for LPNs is required.
Contributes to the team by assisting the physician with the performance of surgical procedures and instruments.
Must have current licensure as indicated by profession (LPN must be licensed by State Board of Nursing).
Minimum of two(2) years training in surgical technology from a comparable medical institution. LPNs must have one (1) years' experience as a scrub technician. Or, a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology may substitute for experience.
Proficient Knowledge of duties and responsibilities of a surgical technician. The ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner. The ability to learn advanced procedures, instruments, and techniques.
Education: N/A
Certification in Surgical Technology.
One (1) year experience as a Certified Surgical Technician. Five (5) years of work experience as Surgical Technician.
