Requires less than one year of applicable experience in a laboratory or phlebotomy setting. Must be able to communicate effectively with nursing staff and resolve patient circumstances interfering with sample collection.
Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park is looking for a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support our lab team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform blood draws and process specimens. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team with diverse backgrounds and experience levels, which ensures our vision of being “The best place to get care. The best place to give care.” Is maintained. The Work : PRN: as needed, but primarily 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. shift coverage Collects patient samples in accordance with laboratory’s policy, procedures, and regulatory standards Documents receipt of patient samples in the LIS/EMR; processes and prepares samples for testing. May perform and report basic laboratory testing, as needed. Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections Why Saint Luke’s?
