About the role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients and developing, evaluating, and modifying care plans within a high-acuity Emergency Department. They function as part of a Care Team to perform complex patient-care procedures and ensure positive patient outcomes.

Description

Position purpose

Registered Nurse opportunities at Trinity Health Ann Arbor (THAA) Emergency Department (ED).

This is a part-time position scheduled for 24 hours per week, primarily on the night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Occasional opportunities for alternative 12-hour shift assignments may be available based on department needs.

The THAA ED is a 54 bed Level 1 Trauma ER that provides comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages treating over 90,000 patients annually. The ED offers a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork.

Miniumum qualifications

Current Michigan Nursing License.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.

Nurses who do not currently hold a BSN will be supported in obtaining their degree and must commit in writing to completing a BSN within five (5) years of their hire date.

What you will do

Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.

RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.

The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.

The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.

Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adults as identified in Performance Standards).

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Michigan Nursing License and be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Those without a BSN must commit to obtaining the degree within five years of hire.
