Provide direct support, guidance, and hands-on assistance to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, transporting clients to appointments, and documenting progress to empower independent living.
Requires at least 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and pass a successful background clearance.
A Direct Support Professional Float (DSPF) caregiver is a position designed to provide fill in or substitute coverage at any assigned service site and may be scheduled for hours that are vacant due to staff turnover, changes in scheduling or staff paid time off. Work assignments may be during any scheduled hours and at any sites where Dungarvin provides services. A DSP Float provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. What You Get to Do: Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance. Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve. Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more. Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation. Build relationships with persons served and teammates. Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events. Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home. Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest. Document progress, milestones, and action steps.
