A GED or High School Diploma is required for this position. Experience working with individuals who have trauma and long-term psychiatric hospitalization histories is preferred.

00 am - 8:00 am) for a Residential Specialist I within the Torrington area. This position is in our program that serves a capacity of four women with a history of trauma and multiple long-term psychiatric hospitalizations. The Sanctuary Model is utilized when providing services in this program. This position will be responsible to document and deliver services to persons in recovery in the activities outlined in their Individual Recovery Plans.
The Residential Specialist I responsibilities include: Document all activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery according to service contract and MHC requirements. Implement the Individual Recovery Plan (IRP). Teach and assist Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment. Monitor and documents the self-administration of medications noting any refusal, resistance, reactions, errors, or special conditions. Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through proper supervision of the sites ensuring the maintenance of safe and healthy facilities. Provide emergent program site coverage when necessary. May be mandated to remain on site or to report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage. Education and/or Experience: GED or High School Diploma required. Experience with Individuals who have trauma and long-term psychiatric hospitalization histories preferred.
