About the Role
- The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Assisted Living-Weekend Option plays a critical role in delivering compassionate and professional nursing care to residents in a supportive living environment.
- This position focuses on ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities.
- The LPN collaborates closely with healthcare teams, families, and residents to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote independence and quality of life.
- Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate medical records and adhering to regulatory standards to ensure compliance and high-quality care delivery.
- Ultimately, the LPN contributes to creating a warm, respectful, and therapeutic environment that supports the physical and emotional needs of each resident.
- Job Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and timely according to established protocols.
- Monitor and document residents' health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition, and report findings to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and meal assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, update, and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Maintain detailed and confidential medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Provide emotional support and education to residents and their families regarding health conditions and care procedures.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medication administration and nursing care procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in assisted living or long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to resident care.
