About the role

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute conditions for adult and pediatric patients across various emergency department settings. Collaborate with specialists to ensure coordinated care and lead safe patient disposition and discharge planning.

Overview The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

In this dynamic setting, you will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute conditions for both adult and pediatric patients, including those in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) guided by evidence-based protocols.

You will be joining a highly functioning, collaborative Emergency Medicine team that values collegiality, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to exceptional patient care.

The department is known for its strong culture of engagement, where APPs are fully integrated into clinical care and valued as key contributors to patient outcomes and departmental success.

What This Position Offers: Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide variety of acute conditions through thoughtful use of diagnostic testing and clinical assessment Collaborate with specialists across disciplines to ensure timely, coordinated, and comprehensive patient care Perform procedures within scope of practice, supporting efficient and high-quality emergency care delivery Initiate and manage medication therapies in partnership with nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes Lead and support safe, appropriate patient disposition planning, including discharge and admission decisions Deliver care across a range of ED settings—including Fast Track, Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), and the main Emergency Department—providing a varied, fast-paced, and highly engaging clinical experience Why You’ll Love our Region: Four distinct seasons with scenic beauty year-round—from colorful fall foliage to snowy winters and vibrant springs.

Required Licensure/Certifications Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRNs only) Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH and VT Eligible for Federal DEA Registration BLS certification ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP as appropriate Minimum of one year of direct experience in an acute, urgent care, or emergency care setting is highly preferred

Requirements

Requires eligibility for APRN or PA licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont, along with BLS and appropriate ACLS, PALS, or NRP certifications. A minimum of one year of experience in acute, urgent, or emergency care is highly preferred.
