• PURPOSE: Reporting to Program Supervisor, this position provides direct care services to program clients and helps to ensure a calm and appropriate therapeutic environment in the home. This position typically starts at the mid wage range which can vary based on education and experience. We offer a pay differential for overnight and weekend hours.

• Responsibilities:
• Daily
• Client
• Care: Provide structure, support and daily organization to residents; conduct therapeutic client encounters daily; manage client emotional and behavioral issues using a variety of techniques including but not limited to crisis intervention and de-escalation; assist clients in learning independent living skills; follow and enforce house schedule and all house rules; conduct hourly checks; serve as role model and mentor to new staff; participate in level assessments; complete daily logs and encounter notes; dispense medications in accordance with legal requirements and house rules; Staff must remain awake during all work hours.

• Scope of practice: A mental health rehabilitation worker under the treatment supervision of a mental health professional or certified rehabilitation specialist may provide rehabilitative mental health services to an adult client according to the client's treatment plan

• Skills: Strong verbal communication skills required; ability to work with and relate to adults with serious mental illness.

• Demands: Residential environment in a two-story Victorian home. Position may require lifting, carrying or moving of items less than 50 lbs. (groceries, small furniture, client belongings, etc.).
