Supervise family interactions in various settings to support reunification for families in the child welfare system. Provide parenting skills training, psychoeducation, and documentation of progress for court proceedings.
Requires a minimum of an Associate's degree in Human Services and a valid driver's license with a working vehicle. Candidates must have availability for evenings and weekends to maintain a minimum caseload of 18 session hours per week.
As a Family Time Facilitator, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide services and support to families involved in the child welfare system due to allegations of abuse and neglect. You will supervise family interactions in the community, DHS offices, and in the home, supporting families in rebuilding a sense of trust and connection. During these supervised visits, you will utilize a trauma informed lens to provide engaging parenting skills training, psychoeducation, and in the moment re-direction and parent coaching to promote the safe and successful reunification of families. You will be an advocate for the families, setting goals with the assistance of the caseworker and professional team, documenting progress for the court, reporting any concerns of alleged abuse/neglect, testifying in court as needed, and providing transportation. Some perks of this role: Employee position, not a contractor role Mileage Reimbursement Student Loan Forgiveness site (please note that site approval does not guarantee individual’s approval) Paid training in multiple evidence-based practices, such as Trust Based Relational Intervention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills, and Motivational Interviewing An opportunity to become involved with and learn more about the child welfare system, including extensive networking opportunities with child welfare system professionals, such as caseworkers and attorneys What we’re looking for: Minimum of Associate’s Degree in a Human Services field (Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, etc.) Bachelor’s degree preferred Prior experience working with children, crisis intervention and conflict resolution, and/or knowledge of child development and the child welfare system Proof of valid Driver’s License with clean driving record, as well as valid auto insurance and consistent access to a working vehicle that can safely transport clients Organized and able to independently maintain your schedule Ability to provide at least one weekend day and multiple afternoon/evenings of availability in order to maintain a caseload of a minimum of 18 client session hours per week, to accommodate the schedules of working parents and school-aged children
