Registered
Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. Documents patient care provided. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed. Requirements
Applicants must be a graduate of a professional nursing school and hold a current VA or compact state RN license. Required certifications include BLS, with ACLS required within one year of employment, and previous acute care experience is preferred.
