Market context
In South Carolina, Certified Nurse Midwife roles in birth centers are typically driven by steady maternal care demand and the need for clinicians who can work independently in a fast-paced, low-intervention setting. These openings are competitive because employers often want prior birth center or midwifery-unit experience, plus active SC APRN licensure, DEA, BLS, NRP, and ultrasound training; strong L&D experience can help new grads stand out.
