About the role

The Triage RN performs telephone and in-person assessments for neurology patients, specifically focusing on Multiple Sclerosis. Responsibilities include coordinating care, documenting interactions in the EMR, and providing patient education on treatments and medications.

Description Our multidisciplinary outpatient clinic is seeking a skilled Triage RN to join our team, with an immediate opening in the Neurology Department, specifically working as part of our multiple sclerosis team. This role provides telephone and in-person triage, patient assessment, care coordination, and collaboration with providers across multiple specialties. The ideal candidate is experienced in ambulatory care nursing, has strong clinical judgment, and is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

For over thirty years, Neuroscience Group has provided excellent neurologic care for the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin. Ours is the only medical facility in the area that combines neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional and non-interventional pain management, and physical therapy. Our practice has grown to over 50 providers and serves patients in nine outlying clinics scattered throughout the region. Responsibilities

Conduct telephone and in-person triage for neurology patients using established protocols Assess neurological symptoms, determine urgency, and escalate care to providers as needed Document all assessments, triage decisions, and patient interactions in the EMR Enter orders, coordinate follow-up care, diagnostic testing, and referrals Assure patients have completed clinical pre-requisites for MS treatment options. Provide patient education regarding neurological conditions, treatments, and medications Collaborate with providers and staff across multiple specialties to support clinic operations

Requirements

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited college or university with a nursing certificate or baccalaureate degree. Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin. A minimum of two years' experience in the field of neuroscience nursing preferred. Strong triage, assessment, and critical-thinking skills Experience with EMR systems Current BLS certification Preferred: Experience in neurology or neuroscience nursing Prior triage nursing experience (ambulatory or telephone) Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse (ability to obtain after hire if desired) Experience in multidisciplinary or specialty outpatient clinics
