Summary
Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) testing.
*8-10 hour days, 4-5 days per week.
Weekend on call hours
Prior experience in EEG preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs long-term video EEG monitoring on patients, demonstrating proficiency in the International 10-20 system.
- Performs job functions following the ‘Guidelines for EEG and Long Term Neuro-Diagnostic Monitoring in Epilepsy” as set by the American Society of Electro-Neuro-Diagnostic Technologists.Identifies and corrects artifacts.
- Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.Attaches and connects electrodes on the head from EEG machine.
- Performs prescribed testing.Performs data retrieval and reduction operations and video EEG recordings prepared in a form suitable for interpretation by the physician.Reviews patient's history and educates patient about procedure.
- Monitors and documents patient's condition and responds to and reports any seizure symptoms.
