Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Associates degree in MLT Medical Technologist (MT) or Med Lab Tech (MLT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) needs to be obtained within 6 months, or Medical Technologist (MT) or Med Lab Tech (MLT) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) needs to be obtained within 6 months Under approved circumstances, an extension may be granted for an additional 6 months.
