The Hyperbaric Technologist is responsible for the safe operation of hyperbaric chambers and the delivery of oxygen therapy to patients. They also oversee patient care delegated to respiratory care staff under physician or nurse supervision.
Candidates must have an Associate's degree or vocational diploma and be a certified CRT or RRT. Additionally, 2 years of clinical experience in critical care and 40 CME credit hours in a UHMS-approved hyperbaric course are required.
The Hyperbaric Technologist is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. The Hyperbaric Technologist is responsible for the administration and safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HOT) to hyperbaric patients while under the direct supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse. Delegates and oversees patient care to designated respiratory care staff.
