The Occupational Therapist provides skilled therapy services to patients in their homes to improve independence and quality of life. Responsibilities include assessing physical and cognitive abilities, developing personalized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from an AOTA-approved school and an active registered OT license in their state of practice. Additionally, one year of clinical experience, a valid driver's license, and current CPR/BLS certification are required.
Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities to determine therapy needs. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that may include exercises’, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices to improve patients functional abilities. Teach patients and family members about home safety, adaptive equipment, and strategies to manage daily activities effectively. Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress, treatment plans, and modifications to therapy programs for compliance and regulatory standards. Monitor patients progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs. Utilize outcome-based measures to assess the effectiveness of therapy interventions. Collaborate and communicate patient’s change in condition with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other home health team members. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited school approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association Active registered OT license in the state which you practice Must obtain and maintain current CPR/BLS Certification One-year Occupational Therapy experience in a clinical setting.
