The LPN provides practical nursing care for adult acute care patients, partnering with RNs to implement and evaluate treatment plans. Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting patient data, and providing psychological and social support.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing and hold a valid LPN license in the state of Virginia. De-escalation training is required within four months of hire for those in Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.
Experience and licensure/certification requirements may vary by department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development, possesses the ability to collect data reflective of the patient’s status, interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
