The nurse is responsible for educating patients and families, documenting care, and responding to emergency psychiatric situations. Key duties include conducting screenings, administering medications, and collaborating with the medical care team.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the District of Columbia. BLS certification is required, while experience in adult psych or chemical dependency and psychiatric mental health certification are preferred.
