MRI Tech As an MRI tech you will perform examinations to create detailed images of the body's organs, tissues, and structures for diagnostic purposes. What You Will Do · Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values. · Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics. · Performs MRI scans as directed by radiologist, and, once orientation and training are completed, independently conducts scans if ARRT-registered. · Patient care during visit to MRI · Knowledge of MRI equipment and safety in MRI environment. · Assures a safe and clean environment. · Maintains knowledge of technical skills. · Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. · Demonstrates successful technical/patient skills by efficiently implementing special procedure technology in the MR area. · Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department. · Collaborates effectively and in a timely manner with co-workers and clinical staff. · Clear knowledge of modality specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR and RIS.
Additional Responsibilities · Uses a variety of equipment specific to the area, including MR scanners, power injectors, and various computers.

Education Qualifications · Must meet one of the following educational pathways. · Pathway 1 (ARRT Pathway): Associate degree with completion of an accredited 2‑year Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program. (Required) or · Pathway 2 (MRI/ARDMS/NMTCB Pathway): Associate degree with completion of a primary track in MRI, Nuclear Medicine, or Sonography. (Required) Experience Qualifications · MR scanning experience. (Preferred) Skills and Abilities · Knowledge of sterile and surgical procedures. (Required proficiency) · Knowledge of MRI equipment and safety in MRI environment. (Required proficiency) · Knowledge of radiology information system. (Required proficiency) · Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machine and emergency equipment. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications · Any of the following: Registered Technologist Radiology (ARRT-R), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T), Registered ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) OR ARRT–MR Registry-eligible. (Required Upon Hire) and · Must meet one of the following post-hire certification pathways. · Pathway 1 (ARRT Pathway): Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) (Required within 2 Years) And meets educational ARRT pathway requirements upon hire or · Pathway 2 (MRI/ARDMS/NMTCB Pathway): ARDMS or NMTCB registration (Upon Hire) AND Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) (Required Within 6 Months of hire or transfer) and meets education MRI/ARDMS/NMTCB pathway requirements upon hire. and · Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) and · Ohio radiologic license is not required for MRI-only practice.
