Job description
Full-time position available providing high-quality and compassionate service to clients in Washtenaw, and surrounding counties.
The Foster Care Case Manager is responsible for case management services to neglected/abused children currently in foster care, birth parents, and foster parents.
Duties include development of Parent/Agency Agreements, timely completion of service plans, attendance at court hearings and ability to testify, referrals to external services, consistent contact with the child’s providers, and providing supportive casework services to birth parents.
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in human services with experience in child welfare is required.
Qualified applicants must possess working knowledge of Child Welfare, DHHS policies, and State of Michigan laws regarding foster care.
Reliable transportation and a valid Michigan driver’s license are required as this position is required to travel frequently up to 100 miles from the Main Office in Ann Arbor.
Some evening work may be required.
Shared rotating on-call availability among Child Welfare staff to manage 24/7 crisis.
Rotation is monthly.
All Child Welfare staff are required to participate in a designated-on call week.
A $50.00 compensation fee is provided for this week.
Flexibility in your weekly schedule is required to ensure proper coverage Monday – Friday at the Packard office.
This position is eligible for a $1,250.00 welcome bonus and additional retention bonuses after successfully completing designated criteria of the position (some restrictions apply).
Total compensation includes mileage reimbursement, comprehensive benefit plan with employer contribution, 401k retirement option, plus paid time off with paid holiday schedule that includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
In addition this position is provided with a work cell phone for business related tasks.
