The Cat Scan Technician is responsible for performing imaging procedures, positioning patients, and administering contrast media. They must also monitor patient conditions, maintain equipment quality control, and report scan results.

How you’ll contribute

A Cat Scan Technician who excels in this role

Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.

Educates patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.

Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.

Monitors patient condition and responds to changes appropriately.

Prepares equipment and supplies; implements safety standards and performs quality control checks.

Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions.

Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.

Analyzes imaging results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if needed.

Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

What we’re looking for • Education

  • Two-year certificate, Associate’s degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a two-year certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree. Required certifications include a current Radiation Operator Certificate, ARRT registration in Radiology and Computed Tomography, and BLS.
