The coordinator conducts home studies and assessments for relative placements to ensure the physical and emotional needs of youth in foster care are met. They provide ongoing support to caregivers, facilitate placements, and maintain relationships with DCF and court partners.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a human services-related field is required, and previous experience with children and family services is preferred. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

The Kinship Care Coordinator is responsible for completing home studies on relatives that have been identified as a placement option for youth in foster care. They assess the caregiver’s ability to provide for the youth’s physical, mental, educational and social needs as well as visit the relative placement monthly to provide ongoing support.
