About the role

Provide safe, ethical, and accountable nursing care across various units including the Emergency Department, Med Surg, and ICU. Responsibilities include performing assessments, planning care, and implementing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

About the unit

The Emergency Department at Pennock Hospital is made up of 12 beds. This small but fast paced level 3 trauma center sees a variety of patients that have encountered emergency medical situations. Examples of patients cared for on this unit include those with animal bites, seizures, broken bones, drug overdose, and burns.

About the unit

This unit is a 13-bed Med Surg unit with overflow into ICU.

Stroke Certified.

We treat our patients as our own family.

Accountability, honesty, compassion and courage are very important.

We pride ourselves on great team work, collaboration and safe personal care for our patients.

Regionals also give you the opportunity to have flexibility with your schedule.

Nurse to patient ratio 1:5 for days, up to 1:6 on nights.

This unit is a 6-bed ICU unit that may have Med Surg patients.

Scope of Work

Provides safe, ethical, and accountable nursing care in accordance with ANA professional standards and Michigan state regulations

Demonstrates competency using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Upholds professional performance standards including: communication, collaboration, culturally congruent care, leadership, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement

Strives for optimal patient outcomes across all assigned units

Qualifications

  • Requires previous inpatient experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) – Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required within 5 years of hire
  • Michigan RN License – Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required within 90 days of hire
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required within 6 months of hire

Requirements

Requires a Michigan RN license, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and a BSN within five years of hire. Candidates must have previous inpatient experience and obtain BLS and ACLS certifications within specified timeframes.
