About the Role
- We're looking for an X-Ray Tech that wants or is in the process of receiving their Mammography certification.
- We will pay for your Mammography Tech training!
- The Mammography Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare sector by performing diagnostic imaging procedures specifically focused on breast tissue to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases.
- This position requires the technician to operate mammography equipment with precision and care, ensuring high-quality images while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- The role involves collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging results that inform patient treatment plans.
- New technicians entering the field will receive comprehensive training and support to develop their technical skills and clinical knowledge.
- Ultimately, the Mammography Technologist contributes significantly to patient health outcomes by facilitating timely and accurate breast cancer screening and diagnosis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited mammography technologist program or equivalent training.
- Xray Technologist
- Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and patient care principles.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous clinical experience in mammography or related radiologic technology.
- Additional certifications in breast imaging or related specialties.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Operate mammography equipment to capture high-quality breast images following established protocols and safety standards.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately to ensure optimal imaging results while maintaining patient comfort and dignity.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to review images and ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Perform routine equipment quality control checks and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Educate patients about the mammography process, addressing any concerns or questions to alleviate anxiety.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
