The Telemetry RN provides direct bedside care to patients with acute cardiac and respiratory issues, focusing on continuous heart rhythm monitoring and medication administration. The Telemetry RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will continuously monitor heart rhythms (ECG/EKGs), administer critical cardiac medications, manage complex drips, and intervene quickly during acute changes in patient conditions. Key Responsibilities
Cardiac & Telemetry Monitoring: Continuously assess and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognize arrhythmias, and report abnormalities to the medical team.
Patient Care: Provide direct, bedside nursing care to patients with acute cardiac issues, post-stroke complications, and those requiring cardiac-respiratory observation.
Medication Administration: Safely calculate, prepare, and administer cardiac and IV medications.
Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, neurologists, hospitalists, and support staff to ensure safe, holistic, and coordinated care.
Patient Education: Instruct patients and their families on heart-healthy lifestyles, medication management, and warning signs.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records utilizing the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid Virginia RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications. A minimum of 2 years of acute care experience is highly preferred, with a preference for BSN or MSN degrees.
