About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience providing counseling services to diverse populations.
• Strong knowledge of ethical standards and legal requirements in mental health counseling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with specific populations such as children, veterans, or individuals with substance use disorders.
• Bilingual abilities or experience working in multicultural settings.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
• Additional training or certification in crisis intervention or suicide prevention.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client needs and goals.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
• Maintain detailed and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to support client care.
• Stay current with developments in counseling methods and mental health research through ongoing professional development.

• The Licensed Counselor will utilize strong active listening and empathy skills daily to build trust and rapport with clients, facilitating open and honest communication.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential for assessing client needs and tailoring treatment plans effectively.
• The counselor will apply therapeutic techniques and clinical knowledge to guide clients through behavioral change and emotional healing.
• Organizational skills are important for maintaining accurate documentation and managing caseloads efficiently.
• Additionally, collaboration and cultural competence skills enable the counselor to work effectively with diverse clients and interdisciplinary teams, ensuring comprehensive and respectful care.
