The role involves performing sample processing, screening, and monitoring tests in compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the assistant performs venipunctures and supports technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates with phlebotomy certification and experience in healthcare settings. While no experience is required, one year of phlebotomy experience and EKG skills are preferred.
Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
