About the role

This role is responsible for performing basic Medical Assistant duties and managing patient flow within the unit. Key tasks include handling front desk operations, scheduling patients, and verifying payor information.

A Brief Overview This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties.

What You Will Do Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.

Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.

Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards.

For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required) Highschool Diploma OR GED Equivalent (Required) Work Experience 1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency) Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency) Medical terminology knowledge. Requirements

Candidates must have completed a Medical Assistant program, hold a high school diploma or GED, and have at least one year of clinical experience. Proficiency in communication and organization is required, while CMA certification and medical terminology knowledge are preferred.
