In addition to basic surgical procedures, demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in broader scope of surgical procedures: ENT, Plastics, Eyes, Complex Breast, and ortho/spine. For Family Birthing Center (FBC) this includes advanced knowledge and practice in all obstetrical procedures: cesarean section, cesarean section with tubal ligation, cesarean section with hysterectomy, laceration repair, dilatation and curettage, and emergency cerclage placement.

Qualifications

HD Diploma or GED required HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required. Current BLS required. Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment. Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique. Minimum of two years experience in a hospital operating room or outpatient operating room setting.
